As a special surprise Stephen and I took some of our new wines to share at the Garden Heights Holiday Party last weekend. This fun evening is highlighted by lots of homemade dishes brought by the talented individuals that work at Garden Heights, so we thought it would be fun to preview two of our wines. The lightly fruity, dry and aromatic Rose was very well received. Many were surprised at its clean fresh taste without the sweetness they expected in a Rose.We also had the wonderful “Batch 3”, a chambourcin fermented dry in stainless steel using our largest tank from the mid-harvest fruit. Everyone really liked the rich but understated fruit flavors you experience with this wine. The hearty bouquet is welcome with heavy winter meals and the smooth taste warms you from your mouth to your toes. What fun it was to tell stories about our experiences making the wines and sharing what we have learned. Thanks again to Lou for hosting such a lovely evening and letting us bring our wines.
